scrollr is a teleprompter for iPhone and iPad, with a website at getscrollr.app. This policy explains what we collect, why, who processes it for us, and how you can delete it. We don't sell your data, show ads, or track you across other companies' apps and websites.
Account. Your email address and password, used to sign you in. Your password is stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider; we can't read it.
Profile. Your name. Gender and birthday are optional: you can leave them out at sign-up, and change or clear them in your profile at any time.
Scripts. The titles and text of the scripts you write, so they sync to your account and work on your devices. The app also keeps a copy on your device so you can prompt offline.
On your device only. Prompter settings (speed, text size, colors, timer), your script queue, your theme, and the random token behind your live link stay on your device. Nothing about how you use the prompter is sent to us.
When you share your live link and someone opens it, the app sends the queued scripts' text, the prompt's appearance, and its scroll position to that viewer while the page is open. These messages pass through our realtime provider and are not stored. Anyone who has the link can view your prompt, so share it only with people you trust. Resetting the link in Settings stops the old link from receiving anything.
Only to provide scrollr: to sign you in, sync your scripts and profile, and show your prompt to the people you share your live link with. We send email only for account purposes, such as confirming your address or resetting your password. We don't use analytics or advertising tools, and we don't profile you.
Supabase hosts our authentication, database, and realtime messaging, and sends account emails. Cloudflare hosts and delivers this website, which involves processing your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site. Both act on our behalf under their data processing terms and don't use your data for their own purposes. We share nothing with anyone else unless the law requires it.
The website uses cookies only to keep you signed in to your account. The public pages, including this one, set no cookies and use no tracking.
We keep your data while you have an account. To delete it, open the app and go to Settings → Account and security → Delete account. This immediately and permanently deletes your account, profile, and scripts from our database and removes the copy on that device. Backups kept by our providers may hold it for a short time until they are overwritten.
You can see and change your profile and scripts in the app at any time, and delete your account as described above. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to request a copy of your data, object to or restrict its processing, or complain to your data protection authority. To make a request, email support@getscrollr.app.
Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Database access rules ensure that only you can read or change your profile and scripts.
scrollr isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
If this policy changes, we'll update it here with a new effective date, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
